I'm afraid that it will be hard for me to provide you with information regarding this since this most likely vary between markets.
Here in the Nordic region where I'm situated a few service providers (operators) have exchange programs which you can join in on when you buy a new phone and change it to another phone after 6-12 months for a small fee.
I'd recommend that you check with the retailer or operator where you bought the phone from and see if they have the same kind of program / offer.
You can also check with your Local support team if they have more information regarding this since they are the experts on your specific market and will be able to provide more accurate information.
