empty call log - not hidden

Hello everyone,
I've updated to kit kat a few days ago and since, the call log is persistently empty.
I've looked up solutions, but everyone points to the "hide call log" setting.

Mine ISN'T hidden.

I see missed calls on the notification bar and menu, but when i press the missed call notification, it takes me to an empty call log.
Third party apps work just fine. I've tried removing all phone related apps, but to no avail.
In the mean time, in using a third party dialer, but it doesn't erase missed call icon on the phone icon, which really pisses me off. The original phone app doesn't show me any of the call logs,but it's insistent about showing me that there are missed calls.

Any ideas?

Hi there.

I was facing the same problem and found some kind of a solution.

I've installed a call log from Google Play (Call Log Monitor, one with a red icon) selected all the log (with the check boxes) and delete the log. On the Phone log it appears a message saying "Call log empty", tried to make a call and the call appeared on the log.

Problem solved, with a little effort.

I think that the problem is with the recover app from Sony, so... DON'T use it

YES YES YES, your sollution works! At last I have the log back. It disapeared after upgrade to 14.3.1.0.681.My only problem left, is that the internal FM Ratio no longer finds channels (noise) after the update, but I guess this is just an other thing Sony did not test. Indeed expencive phone for a low quality update realese!

On my z1 compact I had this problem straight out of the box with only the "factory" installed apps. Looks like an own goal to me!

the filter call log technique works efficiently. filter to "incoming only" then to "outgoing only" if you go back to all calls they show up.

if it keeps on not showing , clear the log and start afresh it works..build a new log...
