Drop down and ghost clicking

My z3 compact has two issues. The drop down function does not work in the portrait position except when in the standby screen. It works in the horizontal position though.

secondly on occasion random rapid clicking occurs which i believe is known as ghosting. It tends to always open google street view. It is irritating. I think it tends to stop after a short while. I do sometimes restart the phone to stop it.

i cant back up because xperia companion is not compatible with Windows vista. If i cant backup it means i cant factory reset.

is there an app causing my issues? Is there a virus causing them?

Test the phone in >>> safe mode to see if it's a third party acting up, also, remove any protective case, film, or protective glass and report back. 

Also there are other means to back up your phone.

A clean of the screen seems to have stopped the ghosting. On the drop down issue i have been following advice direct from sony and sadly nothing has made a difference, even factory reset.

This is an issue which has afflicting a few Z3 Compact users (not sure about other Sony phones).

It has been discussed in this thread. There is no solution for it yet (despite it being marked as Solved for some reason).

Workaround for now is to go the Play Store and search for "drop down status bar". There's an app called Drop Down Status Bar which at least let you pull down in the status bar in potrait mode while at the Home screen (just not while you are in an app).
