Cannot edit Myself contact card

Hi, I have a problem with the Myself contact card, top entry in the Xperia Z contacts card. I'm not sure where this content comes from. If I go in and edit the fields it allows me to save but then when I go back in it has reverted to the previous information. I can't delete this contact. I have edited my google and google+ contact info but still this Myself information has not updated. Anyone else had this problem? Even better, anyone else know how to fix it?

This contact displays information from your SIM-card and accounts you have in the phone. If you for example have a picture added in your account on Google+ and then logon with the app Google+ in the phone your picture will be displayed in Myself. If you have an ActiveSync account you will see that email address under Myself.

To edit the information you need to update the information in your accounts.

If the contact displays wrong phonenumber you probably have wrong number under Settings -> About phone -> Status -> My phone number. This can't be edited from the phone. It's preprogrammed into your SIM-card from your operator.

Thanks, the phone number is not available on this sim, the Myself contact card only has email addresses. See screenshots. First one shows my last name as O"Leary instead of O'Leary. Nowhere have I input my name incorrectly!

You can see in the second pic it says "google+ contact information is not editable on this device" but none of that information matches what's on my google+ account except as you say the pic is from google+.1

Looks like that information is coming from the email accounts you have in the phone. Open Email -> [menu] -> Settings -> [your accounts] and check the information there like "Your name".

Yeah that must be it, thanks. Bit annoying that it's not editable.

I finally managed to rectify this problem.

The problem persists if you have more than one gmail account in your smartphone and all of them linked with Google+. So, this is what I did, step by step:

  1. Login to your PRIMARY gmail acount from your desktop and view your Google Contacts.
  2. Search within Google Contacts your PRIMARY gmail address. Your own contact should appear, so just add in your mobile phone number. Save this information if Google Contacts hasn't done it automatically.
  3. Next, from your phone, go to the Google+ app and sign out from ALL of the accounts that you have signed into.
  4. Lastly, sign back in using your PRIMARY gmail account. By this, 'ME' or 'Myself' from your phone's contact list should have the correct info.

I know I am latest this discussion but I have not found such wealth of information anywhere else, thanks @joeanthem, I also think almost every Xperia Z, Z1, Z2 (myself) etc user would have this problem so we need to add to it as much as possible.
My problem was that I have two accounts on Gmail, one for myself involving some work and bank registrations etc and one for both myself and the missus, which we use simultaneously. She has also used thatvsame Gmail account to create a G+ profile.

Again, thanks to Joeanthem, I got to the bottom of it, and it is extremely simple.

1. Go to your G+ app on the phone.
2. Select the profile you don't want information of under Myself contact card.
3. Go to Settings, Sign Out.

Furthermore, make sure that profile does not sync any of the Google+ apps (Google+, Photos, Contacts, Uploads etc). Even better if you did this step first. For example, I only sync:
1. Gmail
2. Calendar
3. Keep (notes)

Hope this helps.

Hi I upgraded to sony xperia z3 so needed a nano sim card. The sim came with a number that was changed to my no in 24 hours but now I can't get rid of the original sim no on myself. Please how do I get rid of this number as every time I make a call it also tells me that call forwarding is enabled?

I'm afraid i don't know of any way to change the number that's preprogrammed into the SIM card by the operator from the phone. I recommend that you contact your operator regarding this.
