You first need to unlink all the contacts from Skype Whatsapp etc

Go to Contacts > Press a contact > Press Edit(a pic of person with pencil on top right) > Press a panel with "Whatsapp" / "Skype" logo and press "Unlink"

Then delete the contact normally

Hey,

Thanks for the answer! I've tried your solution but it still doesn't work.

When I tried to edit the contact it showed that it is linked to Whatsapp but there was no "unlink" button.

Is there any way to overcome this?

Thanks!

Are you sure? Because that's there in my Z1.

Can you try screenshot your contact in "edit" state and upload the screenshot to pasteboard.co or dropbox.com ?

Hi, is it not just a factor of going into Contacts.....scroll down to what contact you want to delete & click on it, then 3 dots then press delete.....:smileysmileywink:

Hi, I have a similar problem with my Z3C.

I deleted some temporary or unwanted contacts from my addessbook.

Since they were linked to a WhatsApp account (via the phone number), now in addressbook I can see ONLY the WhatsApp contact and I can't remove it. If I press the "three dots" buttons, "delete contact" is gray and I can't use it.
It seems that WhatsApp contacts are not correctly synced, but I can't see any errors.

Any help? Thank you!

You just have to delete them normally, and when it says that you can't delete them, shut down your mobile and open it in safe mode, then open contacts and you will see that contacts you tried to delete was already deleted, then open your device normally by only pressing power button.
(you can open your mobile in safe mode by pressing down volume key while mobile is opening until you see (safe mode) at your mobile screen)

Do this go to phonebook-contacts-3dots-filter-display contact-skype-un check ☑. Then your contacts dissappear

Identical problem here, not solved in contacts. Looked up the contact in Skype and deleted it there. Immediately disappeared in contacts.

In settings you'll find the option to synchronize with WA, Skype, LinkedIn, Google, etc. Remove the tick in box as desired.
