AptX - Auto Enabled?

Hi, this might be a stupid questions but is AptX auto-enabled over bluetooth when you connect bluetooth headphones? I've just bought a pair of Sony MDR-10RBT headphones which are AptX enabled and so is my Xperia Z2 and so I wanted to know if you have to turn AptX on somewhere on the phone or is it auto-enabled when paired with an AptX-enabled device? I just wanted to make sure my headphones are using AptX and not standard bluetooth A2DP.

AptX is enabled automatically when you connect a headset that supports it.
