Dear support team,
I am writing to you since your German colleague in the support chat advised me to do so. I am trying to hook up my Garmin heart rate monitor HRM3-SS to my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. However, I am not able to do so. On https://www.thisisant.com/directory I can read that my device is definitely ANT+ compatible and I should be able to pair devices using the technology. I therefore installed from the Google Play store "ANT Radio" & "ANT plugins" and then tried to pair my heart rate monitor from within the Runtastic app. However, with Bluetooth turned on, it doesn't find the heart rate monitor. Now I am wondering why it doesn't work. Your manuals are of no help.
Hence, I have three questions:
Thank you for a quick response!
Regards,
TW
Hi viridis,
the HRM from Garmin goes into automatic pairing mode once the sensors feel a heartbeat so nothing to do there. And I believe it is due to the concept status of Android MM that ANT+ functionality is not fully implemented yet.
Therefore, I would like an official answer on this from SONY support.
Thanks!
Hi @achmet,
ANT+ accessories usually require a companion app through which the pairing is done, instead of through the phone's Bluetooth menu. From what I found it looks like Garmin has an app for Android called Garmin Connect, have you tried downloading that app from Google Play?
When it comes to questions related to our Android concept initiative I'm afraid we can't answer those here on the forum. Please bring up any questions you might have in the Google+ community: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/112992521987845274967
Hi Christofer,
I have been sent to this forum by the development guys to which I emailed. I emailed them because regular chat support couldn't help me and pointed me in their direction. They then told me this would be the right place and now you are telling me I need to go somewhere else? I feel like a merry-go-round.
The Garmin Connect app doesn't list my device, I had already checked within that app. Runtastic apps should find it but they use the ANT+ technology which doesn't seem to work in the concept software. It has already been mentioned by others:

So I hope that you can let me know if this is true or if I am just missing a setting, like activating ANT+ or if I need to download the plugin from Google Play Store...basically it comes down again to the three questions I have asked in my initial post...
And I need to be approved first for the G+ group, so I cannot post anything there.
RESULT: I am still not being helped.
This forum is supporting the official Xperia software while the Concept software is supported by the developers through the Google+ group I linked to earlier. This is why I am unable to answer your questions as to whether or not the Concept software supports ANT+ or not.
According to the group's "About" column you need to sign up via the InTouch app that is available after installing the Concept software. You should then gain access to the Google+ group "within a few working days".
I hope this makes things clearer for you
SOLVED.
In the application ANT tadio Servis, after installing it, you must manually give the authorization for the use of the hardware ANT, tipping the approprate box.
