Answer machine problem after update z2

Hi, after update to 5.0.2 the answer machine on my z2 will not switch off if I answer a call. This is frustrating as now when I am 20 seconds into a call the answer machine cuts in, unlike before. Is this just the new way this works with this version, or is it a phone issue?

I'm afraid this is a software issue with the latest version. The issue may occour if you enable smart call handling or if you answer a call by pressing the answering button on a headset. The issue will be fixed in the next software update.

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Hi, yes I tried that but still the same. So maybe a phone issue then?

Ok, I've now re-set the phone, done a full software repair and still have the same problem. I have noticed that if I answer a call with the screen swipe it is ok, but if I answer with motion the answer machine comes on after the set time.

Hey,

I have a Z3 compact. Same thing.

Answering machine on - answer with "old?" style swipe - no problem - full conversation.

Answering machine on -   answer with motion (up to your ear) - cuts off the wife after 10 seconds (Sometimes this is good!!!! ... lol Winking_Face )

But hey, Sony!!!! surely this can get sorted. Throw me a bag of money and I'll give it a go!
