Adding and Removing Apps

Hi. I just purchased the Sony Xperia Z3v. I bought it used. Now that I'm setting up the phone with my own information, preferences, and apps, I'm having trouble uninstalling several apps I won't use that are just taking up memory and cluttering the phone.  I realize that some apps are necessary for the phone to function,  and as far as I know, I'm not trying to remove any of those.

I won't name all the apps I'm trying to uninstall (unless requested) because there are quite a few. One example is an NFL app (NFL as in football)  that won't delete.  When I go to settings and then application manager and bring it up, the info comes up for this app, however,  there's no uninstall button. I have zero interest in the NFL and obviously this was something the phone's former owner downloaded. My questions are:

1. How to remove this and other apps that do not show the uninstall button

2. The person I bought the phone from had reset it and removed all their contacts and data -do apps not reset when you restore the phone?

3. The above question leads me to think I've purchased a phone with some sort of virus or Spyware. Hopefully this is not the case, as I'm also unable to remove apps like Amazon.Com as well.  However the apps that won't delete are indeed a virus - now what?!

Sorry this post is rather long. I have searched around for a solution but haven't seen anything that applies to my situation,  so I appreciate any assistance provided.

@LVCatLady; as far as I know Xperia z3v is a verizon customised device. so it means that they have modified it to inlcude bloatwares of their choosing.

first I would suggest to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion to re install the software as if it was brandnew..

from there you can try to uninstall some (not all) bloatwares.

the only way to essentially remove it is to root your device and or flash/install another software region version that has minimall to no bloatwares

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I am not familiar with bloatware but I'm guessing it's just unwanted apps that don't contribute to things that are needed for the phone to function? Regardless, I will follow your advice and appreciate your help. Cheers!
