I have just bought an Xperia xz2 , model H8216, Android 8.0.0
Settings - Lock screen & security setting - device security, I have the setting set to "swipe".
When I depress the power button to wake the phone the "swipe to unlock" option is intermittent, sometimes it is there and I can successfully swipe the padlock symbol to unlock to the home screen and other times when I press the power button it just opens instantly onto my home screen.
The software is right up to date, I've also reset the phone, but to no avail.
If I restart the phone, the swipe option works perfectly for a few hours, no matter how many times I keep pressing the power button, but then with no warning just goes intermittent again opening instantly onto my home screen.
This is really annoying as it often opens straight to the home screen in my pocket if I catch the power button, which then results in apps being opened and random calling etc.
I've searched Sony forums, Google and YouTube etc but cannot find any answers, am I missing something here ?
I don't wish to use the finger print scanner or a PIN, I just like the swipe to unlock action, please help.......
