XZ1 Compact: Auto backlight not smooth

Once again, as posted over on the main XZ1 forum here, this happens on my XZ1 Compact as well.  Anyone else?  Could someone from Sony support comment on whether this issue is currently being investigated?

No, it is not. From dark to light it's very noticable the stepping.

Сделайте что-то с адаптивной регулировкой, она просто отвратительная. При минимальном освещении яркость бегает от низкого к высокому значениюи изменяется рывками. Это раздражает 

Do something with adaptive adjustment, it's just disgusting. With minimal illumination, the brightness runs from low to high and changes in jerks. It's annoying.

I still have the issue after running all the updates. It became slightly better.
