Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to increase the length of the 960FPS video recording? Currently I can only do super short clips which makes it easy to miss the right moment. Can more continuous recording be done?
Thanks.
Don't forget, filming at 960 fps requires a very fast onboard memory speed (write) and a lot of space (from 30 or 60 fps up to 960 will take faaaar more space, require far more writing speed, ram speed, etc.). And the light needed has to be bright, why? Because every individual picture taken during this time is taken so fast, that the cam get very low light (like a reflex camera closing and opening so fast its obturator, that it nearly receives no light, or very very low.). Hope my english is okay as it isn't my mothertongue and that it helps in understanding the reason why such a "small device" can't do better!
Good morning I'd like to ask you is there any wireless option how to start recording (slow mo button) without touching phone ? Many thanks
Maybe one of those cheep Bluetooth camera controllers might be able to do.
Think I might order one and try it out!
Better not but longer than 0.18 sec ?
I bought a Xperia XZ1 (G8341) on yesterday.
I notice that 960fps in very short length, because I tried shot the video was missing picture is no lucky. I think SONY technical is very lack design. Because I am expert technology and high genius.
If Xperia XZ1 have latest DDR4 memory and SSD Storage much faster save up to 1.5Gb/sec. I believe SD media must be class U3 type max 100Mb/sec than U1 class is not enough as super slow motion. But Why not SONY should be idea and update next version.
Please explain to us...
Thanks
Mike
Well, you cannot cheat physics
higher resolution=smaller pixes size=higher noise to signal ratio
if it's dark you have less "signal" (or to be exact photons falling on the imaging chip) therefore the noise becomes more prevailing
And guess what, higher frame rate = shorter exposure = even less photons captured
therefore the first and most important thing in high speed shooting is light - LOTS OF LIGHT
Some of the phantom cameras for shooting high frame rate have the same type of limitations. Granted at 1000fps prob get close to 30seconds realtime or 2000fps 15seconds for example. You get the idea. But these cameras cost more than most houses. Now Sony if you are reading this.... I know the buffer RAM is the limitation for high speed and being a phone theres only so much Buffer RAM you can put in to build the phone to a price. What would be nice on the high speed video would be to have some options eg. 960fps at 720p gives 1.8 seconds realtime. Or 960fps at 360p gives 3.5 seconds. Or 480fps options etc... Give the end user the option how to best suit what they want to shoot. Im not complaining about the hardware limitation. Im amazed its possible on such a device but some choices for how to use it would be nice.
Hello Cameron,
I would like to know if this would be possible in the future. I maked a diagram about how and maybe how will Sony will improve the slow mo recording feature. Hope will understand !!!
.Btw sorry for the "increse" term ..
