XPeria XZ1 often freeze since almost 2 month

Hello

I have 2 XPeria XZ1 phone (1 bought 20 month ago and another 1 bought only 10 month ago)

Both are often freezing since 2 month.

Last time was this morning. The phone was in charge all night and when I wake up, the led was still orange and screen does not turn on by pressing power key => only solution in this case is to press and hold volume up and power keys

Freezing occurs at least every 2 or 3 days on both XPeria XZ1 phones

From my point of view, this is clearly due to a bad software update because I can't believe that 2 phones get the same hardware problem at the exact same time

Any help to solve this is really appreciated

That sounds a bit strange, does these type of freezes happen during a specific kind of use? For example while using a specific app or while the phone is charging?

If the freezes occur while the phone is charging, the best thing to do to see if the freezes is caused by the software or by a downloaded app to charge the phone in safe mode. If the phone freezes while charging in safe mode, I would suggest that you try to repair the software on the phone using Xperia Companion and a computer. Keep in mind though that all user data will be erased by the repair, so it is advised to do a backup before to avoid data loss.

It's really hard to tell when it happen because it's often when I am not using it (charging or not)

I did not identify a pattern of when freezing occurs (At a time it was impossible to use Netflix app but this problem seems to be solved by now => So maybe not related to phone but more Netflix app ?!)

Both XZ1 have not the same usage (1 for personal / 1 for professionnal) so they have really different applications installed on it (Except for those integrated to the phone)

In that case, it might be best to try a software repair on both phones, this will replace the current software with a new one which might do the trick for this to be resolved.

Try this and let me know how it goes! And do note that the repair will erase all data from the phone, so my suggestion is to do a backup before the repair.

My wife had some similar Problems with her xz1 compact. She used a Huawei "fast charger" which causes this Problems. After i bought a proper "quickcharge" Adapter the Problems were gone.

I had same problems, random freeze when I use apps like facebook

Hi @tizzi717,

If you are able to localize the freezes to a certain app, like Facebook for example, try clearing data for the app. This will reset all settings for the app which might do the trick. Also, keep in mind that this will log you out from Facebook. Find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Facebook > Storage > Clear data > Tap "OK" > Restart the phone.

It isn't app Onlus realeted. I try ti wake up my xz1 when It was on charge. Nothing happen. I had to force shutdown with volume up + Power
