Xperia Backup & restore crashing

Every permission is 'on' for the app, I have a strong wifi signal.

It fails every time, on auto mode, every 'X' days and on manual mode too.

Try clearing its cache:

Go to Settings -> Apps & notifications -> App info -> tap on the 3-dots icon in the top right corner -> Show system -> Backup & restore -> Storage -> Clear data -> Restart your phone.

But it didn't work. Keeps crashing, either selecting online archiving or SD card.

Try using Xperia Backup and Restore without selecting "Application Data" (Google already backups that data anyway).

Try making a manual backup selecting only one option to backup at each time to see if it is one of them making the app crashing if it doesn't work and it crashes every time maybe you need a software repair with Xperia Companion.

same problem. Crash on manual, crash on auto, crash on file change attempt.  Data clear have no effect. Backup works before  update some time ago. Actual version is useless and not tested.

I've been experiencing the same crashes.  It used to work but has not in the last 107 days.  Attempting to even look at the backup options screen causes it to crash.  Cannot do a manual backup.  Can't change any settings.

I've followed Sony support instructions and nothing fixes the problem.

'Restore to factory settings' worked for me. I know it's a huge fuss but it did the job.
