I have an Xperia XZ running Android Oreo build 41.3.A.0.401, When I try to record 1080p/60fps, It stops recording at 2 minutes and 20 seconds. And as for 4K video recording, It stops at 1 minute 23 seconds.
Does anyone experience the same issue? Does it cause by hardware problems?
Hi,
I tried only 4K recording a I can record even more than on Nougat 7.1.1. Now, it is like 23 minutes...
Best regards,

I think it depends on the ambient temperature.
Where do you live?
Here in Austria actually is winter.... Phone stays cool and so you can record for a long time.
In summer the phone overheats and recording stops after some minutes...
Hi. Did you ever get this resolved with recording in 4k? I have the same issue. I get to 10 mins and then the mobile stops to record due to over heating.
Some features have been disabled due to increased temperature
I seems very ridiculous not to be able to use the camera due to increased temperature (not hot, just warm). When I carry the phone around in my pocket, it is normally warm between 25 to 35°C. It is generally fine when I try to take a few pictures but when I hold it in my hand for longer than 5 minutes and try to shoot longer videos, it interrupts with a message to let it cool down. For me, this has never happened on any other phones before even in plastic housing (eg. Z3 Compact) with almost the same camera capabilities.
I am very disappointed with this because it won't let me take longer videos nor a larger amount of pictures for almost half a year. I live in Czech Republic and in summer (30°C+above temperatures, the camera is constantly shut down).
@JayElectricsI noticed the same problem you mention on my Z3 Compact as well.
Anyway.
Try to film at 30 FPS which produces less heat.
Well, mine Z3 Compact overheated too after leaving it about an hour in my car on sun. Then it would not even start the camera. And I also tried the experimental 4k video recording which heated the phone up after 8 minutes. I still have the Z3 Compact just for taking photos and capturing videos because my XZ1 is almost useless most of the summer.
Good tip Strampke, if I am able to start the camera, the 30fps gives me more time to record but still very dissapointing given the price was higher than my new Z3 Compact 3 years ago and there is virtually not much better/new.
