Within the first week of purchasing XZ premium some lagging issues such as touch keyboard not responding started.
Now its almost unusable after 3 weeks of use. Regular error is system UI has stopped responding and any type of app can stop responding. The phone regularly locks up now and basically unusable. Battery is drained quickly and often runs hot as a result.
Spoke to online chat support and they email through possible solutions which we have tried most of without result. The next steps will require resets backups etc which I just dont have time for.
If Sony doesnt offer a reasonable solution within next couple of days then its going back for a refund and will buy a Samsung.
We had a older Xperia without any issues.
This XZ is a dud at this stage unfortunately and its fully updated.
Why did you let it restore the apps? I suggested that you NOT do that. You can prevent a restore of all third party apps no matter where they are backed up. The choice is yours.
Swapped the phone for a Samsung S8 and all same "3rd party" apps installed and no issues at all. Runs as expected.
When I took the XZ back they tested it after factory default and it still got warm.
Anyway our experience might be different for others but reading this forum our problems reflect what others had.
I did ask for help from Sony but to merely suggest try this try that doesnt cut it. This phone is a premium product. I was getting system UI errors. To me thats a good reason to take the product straight back.
