Unble to Detect OTG Pendrive

I recently bought a Sandisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type C to use as an OTG pendrive with my phone but the phone was unable to detect any device connected to it. Anyone here has any idea whether the Xperia XZ is OTG enabled? Thank you.

Hi @Iansmt;

The XZ Premium does not have USB manual detection, it is automaticaly detected when you connect it.

I have xzp with android 8.0. I cannot manually ask to detect usb device. It does it automatically . But my flash drives are not recognized. My adapter (femal micro usb to c) works with the pc but nothing happens with a flash drive. Any thoughts?

It's most likely going to be the adapter, on my own adapter it simply plugs in and detects, however I've had some adapters that don't work at all.

Also, what file table format are you using? Fat32, Exfat etc etc

You need to purchase an OTG flash drive that supports the Type - C connector.
After doing that you need to grant the permission for the OTG flash drive to work in your phone respectively.
Enable the OTG from the system settings.

Try buying your products such as flash drives from a trusted seller as they are made very cheaply.
I bought my flash drive from VPLAK as they offered me a good deal and a reasonable price compared to other websites.
