Touch home button

Previous phones had a physical button for when you wanted to exit apps and access the home screen. My last phone had touch buttons which was a step down in utility but at least they were independent of the phone screen. Now this phone has the home and back buttons incorporated into the very screen. This is frustrating because sometimes the home buttons don't show at all, whether it is because the application decides you don't need to see the home buttons or if it's simply having trouble loading a particular screen. When this happens, the only way to escape to the home screen is to put the phone to sleep and start over. Maddening. If the industry is so determined to phase out user friendly features like physical buttons in the name of progress or whatever, then I guess I'll have to live with it because I certainly don't have the influence to fight the tide, but I'm interested in knowing if there is some kind of workaround that would let me use, say, possibly the camera button as a home button? Anybody else feel the way I do?

@Sk7tch

You can always bring up the navigation bar if you are in a fullscreen application by swiping from the edge of the screen.

Hi @Sk7tch, welcome to our forum!

As @Quester mentioned, if you need to access the navigation buttons when they are hidden, you can always swipe from the bottom of the display and they will show up again, so you can for example, exit the application.

The camera button can not be reconfigured so it will work as a home button, it will only work for launching the camera application and for example, take a photo.

I hope that helps! Slightly_smiling_Face

You can also set the 'vibrate on touch' option in Advanced Sound Settings, making the navigation buttons more "physical", giving you a haptic reaction. Personally, I like this design as it is.
