Overnight, my xz2 compact can no longer connect to Verizon network. Tried factory reset, repair with the Xperia companion app, and the SIM card works in other phones.
During the setup after the factory reset, connection and data worked. The last step asked me to download network data to optimize my connection. I have no option but to accept and that's when I lose connection to Verizon network.
My wife's XZ2 Compact has worked fine since did the software repair on 2/10. She hasn't ventured to an area where there is no signal since then so I'm not really sure if the problem is fixed.
There is a new Xperia update available on her phone this morning, but I'm not sure if she should install it or not.
A software update is, apart from monthly security patches, meant for fixing bugs, introducing new possibilities et cetera.
I would take the chance of an update.

Have the battery charged well before updating.
I have the same issue here. No more mobile and data connection with three.ie.
How can I fix it ?
Earlier posters in this thread have mentioned a couple of ways to restore Verizon service.
