Sony Xperia XZ Premium does not recognise Sony MDR-EX650AP headphones

Cross-posting this from the accesories forum.

Hi!
I recently had my XZ Premium come back from repair after it having not recognised any audio device plugged into the jack port. Now, all of my headphones, speakers etc. seem to be working, apart from the Sony ones. Apple earpods work, as well as my HyperX cloud 2. Both of these are 3,5mm 4 pole jacks, just like the sony headset. It also works with a 3.5mm 3 pole jack that I used to connect my UE boom 2 speaker.
The sony headphones do however work perfectly when plugged into other devices such as; laptop, xbox one controller, 3ds, and a (super old) xperia mini pro.
They do not work with my Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE. I've read Nokia/Microsoft have used a different layout for the jack connector points, although I'm not sure this is also the case for this particular model.
The headphones are listed on the sony website as compatible with my phone. I'm struggling to figure out what could be the matter at this point. Anyone out there got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
