Hey!
Got an issue with my Sony Xperia XZ.
It ran out of battery yesterday, I put it in to recharge overnight, as you do. But this morning it asked for me to draw my pattern after starting as normal, then showed the "powerd by android" and the flashy xperia screens over and over just to restart and take me back to the "draw your pattern" screen again.
I can power it off and restart it manually, so I've tried to restart it in safe mode, but that didn't help, same thing still goes on.
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Tingan, sorry to hear about this.
Have you tried removing the SIM and SD card(s) from the device? If you haven't done that > turn the device off > remove the card(s) and start the device as you would normally do.
If it still gets stuck and you end up at the same screen even without the card(s) mounted, perform a software repair using Xperia Companion and a computer. Keep in mind that all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted in this process and since the device can't be fully started, you will not be able to use the backup feature in the same program.
Let me know if that helps!
Hi Jonas!
I tried removing the SIM card and restarting the device, but the same process just repeated. It gets me to the "draw your pattern" screen as always, this is not the PIN code screen ( I haven't reached that far yet).
I downloaded the Comapnion program, but to use it I need to log in to the phone, which I can't since that is my issue. I also tried to reset the password when locked out by following a guide, but that didn't work either.
At this point I don't really care about the files I have on the device and anything that would make it start and get to another screen would be really helpful.
Thank you!
Hi again @Tingan,
If you power off the device and do not connect it to your computer > click on "Software repair" > check the little box in the bottom left corner > Next and follow the on screen instructions and connect the device to the computer when you are told to do so.
Sorry if this method was not mentioned in the post that I linked!
