Sony phone full screen not working

Im trying to watch some videos through websites but not matter what I try my full screen is off centre and showing my status bar and the icons at the bottom of the phone, any idea how to fix this? I've tried rebooting and even force stop on chrome but it doesn't seem to help?

Only if the video has a dedicated full screen button will chrome allow the video to display full and override the status bar and soft buttons.

OP is right, same issue here. 

When going full screen on any video from any website, the status bar and navigation soft buttons remain.

Started to happen since last week.

I'm not sure if it's a Sony issue or a Chrome issue.

I managed to sort it kind of, I unistuninst chrome and updated it and now the video is centred on full screen but the status bar and soft buttons are still there, is there a way so they disappear while on full screen, works fine on YouTube and Netflix
