I just recently upgraded from my beloved Z1 to an XZ because I thought it would eliminate the problem with apps resetting when switching between them but it got worse! Is this a known problem with Xperia? I usually have 4-5 apps going at the same time. Chrome beta, a community/social app, Spotify, news app, text message app. Apparently this is too much for ram management to work properly. When I use menu button to tab between the different apps, they always reset, i.e, if I've written something in a post in my community app, the text is gone and the app takes me back to the message board overview. With Spotify I get transported from search results, playlists etc to the start page. Every time. But first the screen goes black for 2-3 seconds. I only use Spotify as a remote. Chrome Beta reloads the page which can take a few seconds if it's a heavy page, very annoying if you're working with Chrome and another app simultaneously. Other apps like IMDb behave the exact same way. If I've read about an actor, put another app in focus and then go back to IMDb, it will for a split second display the actor page before it reloads to the front page.
What's weird is that this happens 90% of the times so if I've written a post I'm really satisfied with but need to do a fact check on something, it's like russian roulette every time I press that menu button. I've learned the hard way so now I copy my text before leaving the app.
Is it supposed to be like this? To me it seems like the phone is constantly dumping the ram.
That's how android handle RAM, but do send your feedback to the app developers regarding this.
