Oreo or Nougat?

Hey there! 

I just bought my xz yesterday and i'm happy i read the forum before getting all the updates. Looks to me like i rather stay away from oreo. So should I just get the latest nougat update or are there also previous nougat versions with better performance?

I'm still on 7.0 and couldn't be happier . XZ works like a dream still .

I passed that point already and updated to 7.1.1

Performance is great, the only reason I think of getting more updates is to get a more recent security patch. But as far as google and this forum told me, the problems start with oreo... but still, I want to be sure.
