My screen on xz3 has developed a single vertical orange line. Anyone else had issue like this. I am guessing phone will have to go to Sony for screen replacement!
Hi @Kev29, sorry to hear about this.
It does sound like it's the screen that is defect, but could you please check so you haven't enabled something strange in the developer options in your device? Most users have not enabled this setting at all, but I just want to make sure that you don't send in your device unless it's the last available option.
Go to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer options. Turn this off at the top of the menu.
If you don't have it enabled or there is no change, get in touch with your Local support team and they will arrange a repair for you and answer any questions you may have regarding warranty, service routines and consumer laws.
Feel free to keep me posted!
I did a factory reset which solved the issue
Just noticed, orange line is back on the display 😔
That's a pity.
You can proceed using the Support app.
There is a chat option with Sony Support inside.
Hope it'll be fixed soon.
Hi again @Kev29,
That sounds very strange, both that a factory reset helped but that the orange line is back in the display after a few days again, because in most cases it's the display that is the cause and not anything with the software.
Could you try restarting the device in safe mode so we can see if a downloaded application is the cause of this. It could be that you didn't install apps again and once you installed a specific one that was the cause from the start, the line appeared again.
Keep us posted!
I've gone into safe mode, no difference and also have done a factory reset, which solved the issue previously, this time it had no effect, the line is still there
Hi again @Kev29,
You have done everything you can do on your own now and since the line is still there, it's time to have the device examined by a trained technician.
Your Local support team will assist you further with this so tap on the link below > tap on "Sony Mobile > choose your country in the drop down menu and you'll find their contact information.

I understand it's not fun to have to send your device for repairs but you have tried everything you can and I can't recommend any further troubleshooting either.
Feel free to keep me posted!
