I did my the firts Sony XZ1 photos in automatic mode. They looks really bad. The quality is so low.
Quality is worse than the quality of the most smartphones that came out last year. Hmmm
Is it hardware problem? Should I go to my local service in order they to fix that problem? Please take a look on part of the photo bellow
Hi @r2d3, welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with your camera.
It is hard to say if there is a problem or not. It looks like it is zoomed right in with the focal point on the bottom left.
Have you checked out this thread? How to improve your smartphone photography.
I did this photo in Automatic mode in good light conditions. Something wrong with Sony auto mode. In Manual mode it makes better photos, but I preffer Automatic mode, for instance another smartphones makes good photos in automatic.
Thank you for your suggestion/tips, but they don't work in Automatic mode
If you want the best result you have to go to manual settings, adjust the SS and then adjust the iso to the current condition. After all, because the lack of OIS, you have to have a tripod or something to keep it still and put a timer of 3 seconds because without timer, pressing the physical or virtual button shakes the phone.
I know, but Sony XZ1 is not cheap device, that I need always to use Manual mode. I use Automatic mode to make quick photos, because Sony XZ1 is not photo camera, it is smartphone. Why another last year smartphones can work in Automatic mode and produce good photos, but Sony XZ1 can't do that? I am pretty sure that something wrong either with Sony XZ1 camera or Sony camera software. I think it is software issue, but then Sony can fix that. I am wonder that Sony still doesn't fix that.
... and yes I didn't see such bad photos even in cheap spartphones in Automatic mode. Maybe I am wrong, but some
You are absolutely right. XZ1 photos are the worst compared to other smartphones in this price range. And it's for sure software related since in manual mode with a tripod I can produce some very nice and detailed pictures. Also I think that Sony won't ever fix that camera software issue. It exists since 3-4 years in any of their phones. Check the difference below. Manual vs auto. Both on tripod. Photo quality is degraded from the site.
