No track information on MyFord Sync

Hello,

I have my music collection downloaded onto my phone's SD card, and play it through Google Play.  When I first got the phone and paired it with my car (2016 Ford Mustang with the base radio, not Sync 2 or Sync 3), I had all the track information on the radio (which was the case with my previous Android phone as well).  I stream the music through bluetooth.  However, after the phone downloaded its first Android update (Android 7.1?  I purchased the phone on Nov. 6, 2017), that information went away, and the radio dispaly now says "Unknown Unkown" for all of the music tracks.  In addition, I can't search for music by artist, album, or track name anymore 😞

I updated the version of MyFord Sync in the car this evening (from version 5.9 to 5.11) in hopes that it would fix this.  It didn't.

I have unpaired and re-paired the car and phone multiple times.  All other features (including calling and phone directory) work as expected over bluetooth.

I know, through a Mustang owners group that I'm a member of, that this works correctly with the premium head unit that runs Ford Sync 3 and the Sony Xperia XZ premium.  Kind of wondering why it doesn't work with the base radio?  (I know that the base radio uses a Microsoft-based operating system, whereas Sync 3 on the premium touchscreen entertainment system in these cars runs a QNX-based operating system).

I'm driving a 2012 VW GTI, and after the most recent software update I've encounterd the same issue. It's very frustrating to have all of this information just dissapear, especially when you're basically at the mercy of Sony, who don't seem to give a **bleep**.

Have you had any luck resolving your issue?
