No Cameras or Torch

So the long and short, when I open my camera app, it's says "Error: Unknown Error" and closes the app.

All apps that use the camera just say "There's a problem".

Additionally, the torch button on my drop down is greyed out.

Also, my battery has started draining at a rapid rate, and the whole device is very warm!

Things I've tried:

Replacing both camera modules

Replaced battery,

Replaced NFC with battery,

Tried doing a factory reset of the phone.

(Probably unrelated, but replaced anyway as it was showing the phones age)

Replaced right speaker

Replaced ear speaker.

So even after these things I still have the same problems.

I'm thinking it might be a motherboard issue? Broken capacitor maybe, I'm no expert though!

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi @Rueben, let me see if I can help out here.

I am afraid that it is quite hard to tell from a distance what is causing this, but as the factory reset did not manage to improve the functionality of the functions that you mentioned, I would suggest that you try to repair the software using a computer and Xperia Companion. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so make sure to do a backup of your user data before the repair.

If the software repair do not improve the functionality, I am afraid that the only thing left to do is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center to be examined and possibly repaired. If you have any questions regarding the service such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the reply!

The repair software step was the one I took, it downloaded and installed a fresh os on the phone.

So I guess this is definitely a hardware issue!

I'll let you know if I get a solution sorted!

In that case I am afraid that the only thing left to do is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center.
