I just got an Xperia Xz2. Upon start up there was an update 11-20. Then on 11-24 the phone prompted for an update, then another, and one more after I did the update. That is three in one day.

Today the phone was updated again. Immediately after that update, another prompted on the screen.

It seems a lot. Is this normal or is this device not taking the updates? It does say the update history when I look it up and all appear to be completed.

That's normal.

Over-the-air the updates are incremental, they build upon the former, so all the updates available will be installed until your reach Android 9.

To speed things up I recommend doing the update with PC Companion, there you'll receive the latest update immediately.

Hi @Sonycellarcat, welcome to our forum and congratulations on your new Xperia XZ2!

As @skycamefalling wrote, this is completely normal and if the device was shipped to the store a while back, there will be some additional updates to do until you have reached the latest software version.

If you haven't setup the device yet, you can perform a software repair using Xperia Companion and the latest available software will be installed, but if you have already set it up, it's smoother to just do the updates directly in the device.
