I have recently bought a new xperia xz premium and I had it for about 3 months and I been loving this phone ever after but I noticed that it uses a lot of ram for no reason I have like 3 games (the only apps I installed) but I only use 1 (remember it's a 4G ram beast right?) so I, m only left with like 1.2gs or under I use this phone for watching YouTube mostly most of the used ram is the android os and the important stuff that I can't run the phone without them someone help at least help me bring it down to 2.0g or under (stay in the 1.5 g range) without safe mode if there a way
@ȘéAndroid manages RAM in a different way that Windows does. high memory usage isn't a bad thing, as apps are stored in RAM so that you can switch between them quickly. it's by design and there's no point in trying to lower memory usage, as it only means your apps will launch slower.
That means my friend that the phone keeps crashing a lot due to poor ram management it even crashes in YouTube which is unacceptable for a flagship I wonder if Sony wants to continue making electronics please listen to us users and fix our problems and I, m sure you will be in better place as a company thank you for your help though but it not the problem solution please sony update our phones that make our phones use less ram and be efficient come on also the camera cannot stay on for more than 30 seconds or less are you kidding me? Remember this is a flagship not a midrange phone like this comment to attract sony, s attention
@Șé you haven't mentioned apps crashing before. that's not normal, I've been using the XZ Premium as my daily driver for over six months and haven't experienced what you're describing.
when it comes to camera shutting down, I noticed that it happens some time after I launch it with camera button while the device is asleep and then don't press any setting for a while. it's probably a protective measure in case the camera gets activated while the phone is in your pocket.
if you're experiencing apps crashing, you might want to try removing the apps that crash for you and install them again. if that doesn't happen, perhaps software repair using Xperia Companion could help with the issue.
