Message preview

Does anyone know anyway to turn off message previews in the home screen but still be able to see who it's by? Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face

@Caitlyn as I've mentioned before, Textra SMS has got that option. there's also an app called YAATA and while I'm not completely sure that setting is there, it's got tons of customization options so there's a chance it can hide message previews.

@Caitlynif you mean hiding message previews on the lock screen, then you can try going to Settings > Notifications > Messaging > On the lock screen > Hide sensitive notification content. If you want to hide message previews from the notifications that show when the screen is unlocked and you're using your phone, then I'm afraid that it's not possible with the preinstalled Messaging notification. However, there are SMS apps available in Play Store that can do just that. I know for the fact that Textra SMS has got that setting, and I'm sure that some other apps do too.

When I do the hide content thing it also hides who the message is from, is there anyway I can keep the name but not the message preview?

@CaitlynI don't think there's a way to go around that with the stock app, sorry. you might want to try some SMS app from Play Store and check in the app's settings if it's possible to hide message content and keep the sender's name.

Thank you very much, would you have any app suggestions that are safe and secure?
