Okay so I'm not sure if this issue is specific to my device, or Xperia or Oreo, but here's the issue. Typically within 2 to 5 mins into a call, the loudspeaker/speakerphone would turn automatically, whilst the screen is still off due to promixity. Funny thing is, the speaker phone isn't activated during the call. So to fix the problem, I have to turn on the speakerphone in the software and then it shows activated, and then turn it off. Anyone else having this issue or something similar that they can assist me with? Sony?
Thank you for the reply. I've tried that, and issue didn't happen but then again it happens randomly and not every calls. When you least expect sort of thing. I factory reset my phone and have been using it clean to troubleshoot the issues I'm having.

Also, this is what I would do, I would use headphones, to see if perhaps the proximity sensor it's acting up, maybe you are pressing the loudspeaker with your face.
It does it in safe mode as well. And to clarify... The loudspeaker button isn't activated yet the voice comes from speakerphone. To turn it off.. I have to activate it.. Then deactivate it. I've also tested with the phone in hand.. Still turns on. Even with headphones.
@Baigs786 it's a wild guess, but do you have Snapchat installed on your phone? if so, try going to Settings > Apps > Snapchat > Permissions and disable Telephone permission. I remember Snapchat used to bug out phone calls in a similar way and denying that permission would fix the issue.
if you don't use Snapchat, try going to Settings > Apps > App permissions > Telephone and see what apps use it. try disabling the permission for some apps that have it enabled, and see if anything changes.
I have the same issue and after reading this thread I turned off telephone permission for snapchat. I thought it had stopped the recurring fault for a time, but lately it's been busily happening even while snapchat does not have this permission.
I've have just disabled this permission for all apps except for Messages and Telephone. Hopefully that contains the problem.
Can we switch back to Symbian now please?

this is the thing that I would do, I would utilize earphones, to check whether maybe the closeness sensor it's misbehaving, perhaps you are squeezing the amplifier with your face.
