The keyboard keys lack sensitivity and you have to hit them in exactly the right spot or they don't work. I have other sony phonea and not had this problem. Also, ridiculous that it might sound, sometimes it does function properly. I am very disappointed.
Hi @Sueo1, welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about your issue.
Do you still have the protective transport screen cover on? Or have you installed a screen protector on the device?
Have you tried another keyboard other than SwiftKey to see if it performs the same?
Hello,
Same issue here. Even to write this I have to struggle. I have no protection to the screen.
If I use both hands to write I allways end up corrcting words. I use Gboard. It behaves like it cannot register fast enough the carater press. I have also a LG V20 wich is much better on this.
Sorry but I am disappointed. I thought after last update to be fixed, but no...still disappointed. Hope for a fix.

Gboard can be a pain at times, my own personal advice would be to resize the board a bit ...smaller ...
I say smaller because it seems to register inputs just slightly better on the xzp screen when set a little below maximum.
You'll also notice that whilst gboard shows corrections in the suggestion bar, in some apps it doesn't actually auto correct. I believe this is down to particular apps permissions with the board.
