I forgot my PIN

i forgot my PIN (i remember it is 4 digit numbers) of my phone since I used to use my finger print to log into my phone, I dont know what happen and my phone wouldnt let me use my finger print and only asking for my PIN. when I wanted to reset a new PIN through my google account it gives me a message saying that I alredy have PIN for unlock the screen thats I don't remember!
I still have the reciet when I bought the phone with me.
can you please help me to solve thins peoblem so I canlog into my phone?

Hi @Abdul407, welcome to our community!

Even if you have enabled the fingerprint screen lock option, you might sometimes have to use your backup screen unlock option to access the device.

You have to use your backup screen unlock option (PIN, password or pattern) in these situations:

• The first time that you unlock your device after you have enabled fingerprint.
• When your fingerprint isn't recognized after 5 tries.
• After restarting your device.
• When more than 72 hours have passed since you last unlocked your device using your backup screen unlock option.

So it's always very important that you remember the screen lock that you have set as well both for the reasons above but also in case there is some unexpected behaviour with the fingerprint unlocking.

In your case, you will need to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion to reset the device so the screen lock is removed. Do note that all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted in this process.

In fact any pin will do as long as you can find a stupid reason to remember the number.

The last 4 digits from your phone number, the last 4 digits of your bank account, the number of Kölnisches Wasser, the last 4 digits of your wife's phone number, the last 4 digits of your man's number.

Think of something ridiculous.

The more ridiculous the better you can remember it.

And what's agains writing it down somewhere?

No that's not an option.

You will forget where that note is hidden.
