Green vertical line appeared on the display

Today on my xz3 a green vertical line appeared on the display. After unlocking the phone, it appeared and so remained. The bezoieczny mode did not give any help. Starting also. I could get an answer, what should I do about it? The phone is 5 months old.

Hi @BOGUSLAW1, sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

I have translated your question to English as this is an International forum, please post any replies in English and it will be easier for me and other users to assist you.

Is the green line always visible, or is it just in certain applications?

As there was no change in safe mode, could you please see if you have enabled the Developer options in your device? If it is enabled, you can find it under Settings > System > Advanced. Turn this off and see if there is any change.

Should there be no change after turning off developer options, or if it was not enabled, get in touch with your Local support team and they will assist you further with having the device sent in to be examined by a trained technician.

Keep me posted!

Hi @Jonas,

I got the same problem 2 weeks ago.. My Phone was turned off, because of "No batter".

Then it start to light shortly the "No batter" icon on screen by itself and suddently a green line verticaly appeared. And it is not disapearing again.

I go the next Day to my local store i Denmark and the are shipping it to the repairshop, but they say That its not covered by the warenty. But I purchased the Phone at 4/12/2018, so its not Even a year old.

I have an insurance by the company where i purchased it.

I'm almost positive That it is a New phone they have to give me instead of repairing the old one.?

Hi @Kerrie_DK, sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

Was it the repair shop that said it wasn't covered by the warranty or was it the retailer? I don't have access to the status of service cases, so I can't see why the warranty was denied but you should be able to get this information from the retailer.

Regarding the insurance, I'm not quite sure how it works and if they pay for the repair, or just replace the device, this will be based on the terms in the insurance and their routines.

If you have the old IMEI number, you can compare it to the IMEI number in the replacement device and if they don't match, its a new device. You can find the IMEI number if you open up the phone application > open the dialpad and type in *#06#.

I hope that helps!

Hi @Vhsviking, very sorry to hear that. Slightly_frowning_Face

Is the line visible in all applications and even in the screen test that you can find in Settings > Support > Xperia tests > Display?

If it is and since the device is so new, get in touch with the retailer and see if they can help you replace it, but if they can't it will need to sent in to an authorized service centre and your Local support team will assist you further.

I was forced to send it to send my phone to a repairshop thrue the dielershop, and All they could do was to give it a new screen..

Fortunally i had my insurance to cover it.

But still i question that wether it is a produkt flaw from sony or what has caused it to appear.

Hi again @Kerrie_DK,

It's very hard to say without knowing the exact reason for why it was not covered by the warranty, but in most cases it's because there is physical damage on the device, which is not covered by the warranty.

Based on your user name you are from Denmark and if you are not pleased with the service centres decision, you can contact the Danish support team on the link below and they will explain the customer claim process for you. I won't do much now though since it has been repaired, but for the future (hopefully everything works fine though) and it does not mean that it will be covered by warranty, but you will at least get a second opinion on the case.
