Freeze at start up

When my device starts up it after a the initial screen that says Xperia it goes to a black screen with a triangle in the middle with a screwdriver and i think a hammer in the middle and a a blue and white moving bar at the bottom of the screen. The device then gets past this and seems to be ok but havehnot seen anyone else's phone do this, what does it mean and what can I do to sort this.

Hi @Bluedre, I'm sorry to hear about what has happened. 

Have you tried to remove the SIM / SD card from the phone when it's turned off and tried to start it up again? If not, then I would recommend you to try it first. 

If that doesn't work, I would recommend you to try a software repair using Xperia Companion, in order to see if it's software related.
