Deactivating the auto apps downloading?

How to deactivate the auto apps downloading? i. e., I want the system to get my permission before downloading new apps., as I fear the auto download may install apps., which may contain malicious software..

Go to Google play store and click on the 3 stripes at the top left hand corner.

Click Settings. Under the option auto-update apps, change the option to over Wi-Fi only or don't auto-update apps.

You may also want to app download preference to Wi-Fi as well to restrict to Wi-Fi.
