I'd like to hear what previous owners of z5 compact think of xz1 compact..
Is it worth the upgrade?
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks, upgrading from the z5c which I only did as my battery was useless after 2 years.
Not a huge difference, it's slightly bigger and a tiny bit faster. I have a few niggles with oreo that are more to do with being so used to the old phone.
If you liked your z5c you'll like the xz1c.

I actually have the same problem, Battery and USB connection is worn out but the rest of the phone is in pristine condition (except for the broken software of course)
It's the only reason im even looking at the XZ1 Compact.
But it seems like the camera is worse on the XZ1 Compact according to other posts on the forum 😞
It is just an up dated version of the z5 compact. I do find the speakers quiet, and the WiFi drops occasionally. But it is just a z5 compact upgrade
- Sitting in hand more comfortable than the Z5 Compact due to the lack of sharp edges of the frame
- the screen is improved
- it's faster
- the side button is a bit more inconvenient, the look looks the same
- There are fingerprints on the back pannel as I expected
- power consumption is good - 4 hours of screen, 3 hours of talk time - 20 hours after charging the battery has another 30% charge
- there are constantly appearing and disappearing arrows on the data icon and wireless net (it is irritating because it is the bluetooth button that constantly moves left and right)
- bluetooth runs a bit odd, at least in my car - there is a slight delay when dialing or answering a call;
- the camera is better , but slill away from the competition
- there is still a delay in clearing the pictures when zooming, but lasts only 2-3 seconds
- the video typical of Sony has a unique stabilization
- USB Type C, need adapters if you want to use your old car chargers, external batteries, second charger in an office, a villa etc
- the sound buttons on the side panel are in an uncomfortable location
- Android 8 - there are a lot of new things
- fast updates
... with a 4 hour screen and less calls , the battery has a 51% remaining charge
@MartinK
Camera seems fine so far, certainly more responsive than my z5c. I know there's been some distortion issues, but I generally take square photos so haven't noticed any distortion.
Only other problems I'm having are finding a gel case that's as slim as the one I had for the z5c, and WhatsApp notifications not showing the number of messages on the app icon.
Otherwise all good, I haven't had a single crash or reboot so far... And the battery is great.
