Hi @Tommy66, welcome to our forum!

In Android 8.0 and later the delete all cache at the same option is not available due to Google removing it so you will need to clear the cache manually for each application.

Settings > Apps & Notifications > See all xx apps > App name > Storage > Clear cache > OK.

There may be applications available in the Google Play store that will do this for you, but a little heads-up is that they may also delete files you haven't used in a while, such as downloaded documents and so forth, so be a bit careful.

I hope that helps!

There is also a built in app that does some of these tasks.

Settings/Xperia Assist/Smart cleaner

"Smart cleaner is a feature that improves the device performance by automatically optimising storage and memory depending on how frequently apps are used.

The cache memory for apps is checked once per day, and if it hasn't been used for over two weeks it's removed from the internal storage (ROM). Apps running in the background that hasn’t been actively used will also be terminated"

I found however when it is turned on it may affect other apps that do similar things..

e.g.  Norton Clean (that comes with Norton Mobile security) did not work very well and kept "stick on" a clean wipe...

not that you would need two things doing the same thing and would only turn one on.

Hi @ezy3, you are right and I totally forgot about that feature! Slightly_smiling_Face

For me personally it doesn't help that much since it's mostly Chrome that goes up in size due to cached data and I use that application on a daily basis.

There is some app from Google called Files by Google: Clean up space on your phone

I haven't tried this myself but I read somewhere that it will also delete downloaded files that haven't been used for a while when it does the clean up and that wouldn't be very optimal for me at least.

In the end, I just wish there was still a button to clear all the cached data, that would make everything easy again! Slightly_smiling_Face
