Hi @Chipmunk1979, sorry to hear about this. 
Is it only when you are in certain places that you experience this or does it occur even when you are in a city?
It's hard to say what the exact root cause is since this can occur if you have a SIM card that is not activated, a defect SIM card and so forth. I would recommend that you start with testing with a new SIM card or if you can borrow one from a friend, colleague or family member and see if there is any change.
