Call waiting no longer works

Sinds kort werkt de instelling wisselgesprek niet meer. 

Deze functie staat aangevinkt op aan in mijn telefooninstelling.

Ook heb ik contact gehad met Vodafone, die rade me aan om het nummer *#43# te bellen, dit gedaan. Staat dan dat de dienst actief is maar werkt nog steeds niet.

Iemand een idee wat het probleem kan zijn?

Recently, the call waiting setting no longer works.

This function is checked on in my telephone setting.

I also had contact with Vodafone, who advised me to call the number * # 43 #, done this. It states that the service is active but still does not work.

Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Hi @Patries80, let me see if I can help out here.

Have you tried clearing the data for the phone app? This will not erase any call logs, but it will reset all settings for the app which might do the trick. Find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Phone > Storage > Clear data > Tap "OK" > Restart the phone. Do note that you might have to enable call waiting once again after this measure.

If that does not work, it might be the SIM card that is malfunctioning and in that case it would be a good idea to get in contact with your service provider in order to get a new SIM card.

Thanks for the answer, i tried everything you told but it still doesnt work.

According to my provider there is a problem with the telephone settings, i Just dont find where this problem is.

If call waiting is activated in the settings of the phone app (Menu icon > Settings > Calling accounts > Operator name > Additional settings > Call waiting), I am afraid that there is no more settings in the phone to adjust. In that case, the only thing left to do is to get in contact with the service provider to get a new SIM card.

I see, @Patries80. I would still advise that you test another SIM card in your Xperia device, this due to the fact that testing your SIM card in another device does not rule out a defect of the SIM card, as different devices might react differently to a defect of the SIM card.

In case call waiting does not work with another SIM as well, you may need to repair the software on the phone using Xperia Companion and a computer. Do note that this will erase all user data from the phone, so it is advised to do a backup before the repair in order to prevent data loss.
