Call Accounts missing

The Xperia X had this beautiful feature of adding call-accounts like voice over IP to the phone app. This is something my Samsung S8 friends really were impressed by since those VOIP apps are pretty bad and not even Apple is offering such thing. I see in Xperia XZ Premium that feature is gone. I definetly want that back since it is helping me for my business purposes a lot!

Hi @JuliusKoroll, I'm glad to hear that you decided to get the Xperia XZ Premium!

Most of the settings available in Call settings are operator or SIM dependant. This means that the call accounts setting may not be available depending on which operator you are using and/or the device's software customization.

Let me know if you have further questions about this and I'll do my best to answer them. Slightly_smiling_Face

In Xperia Xs Call-App when you clicked on the three dots in the upper right corner, went to "call settings" there was "call accounts", where you were able to add a call-service like a VOIP-service (SIP). Then calls from this service appeared in the call app. That setting is sadly gone. And since It is working with the same SIM-card/Provider and does even work without a SIM-card in the Xperia X I highly doubt this is something that comes and goes with my provider, right?

Call settings can also vary depending on the device's software customization so that might be the reason in this case. As an example, I'm based in the Nordics and the calling accounts setting is available in my Nordic device.

I'm afraid I don't have any information about why this is. You may want to contact your Local support, they might have more information related to your local market.

Yes, I have read the other posts with regard to the SIP functionality and localisation, however my XZP (G8142) had this under 7.1.1 and it was being used, and since the ungrade to 8.0 (Oreo) this functionality has been lost, this should have nothing to do local carrier (Vodafone NZ) as they don't resell this particualr model and it was purchased specifically for this function.

Is there other firmware that can be flashed to return this?

Same here: I've been using my SIP account with Android 7.1.1 without problems and after the update to Android 8.0, the option to configure a SIP account on the device is gone. No provider change, using the same device Sony Xperia XZ Premium G8141. So this problem ist not bound to the provider, region or device. What's the problem here?

As far as I got the matter is in Oreo... The same troubles with my moto g5s plus. I managed using Galaxy SIP Accounts and Settings apks to manage with my sip accounts, though the inbound calls are not working at all: the phone doesn't react on them even being registered in sip server.

In my XZP SIP calls can be found in this way: (my phone is different laguage than English, but i try translate) Call-App> (press 3 dots) Settings > Calls> Call Accounts. There are 3 options. SIP Accounts, Use SIP Calls and Receive incoming calls.

Sometimes in new Android versions Google change order of different functions, and after that they are difficult to find.
