My Xperia XZ premium has recently starting disconnecting from all blue tooth devices when the screen goes black, even when I am on a call, if the screen shuts down the Bluetooth disconnects. This is on every Bluetooth device I have. I have disabled battery saving and tried all kinds of settings changes but I can't seem to fix the problem
thanks - I had found a possible solution before you message came through
so this solution seems to be working at the moment, but only if applied in exactly the way I describe below. If you don't unpair all devices first, the solution only seems to work in the short term. It is working for me at the moment. Fingers crossed it continues to do so.
1. start by unpairing all paired bluetooth devices that keep dropping out, then on the phone go to
2. DEVELOPER options - to enable developer mode, Go to Settings -> System -> About phone -> tap multiple times on "Build number" until you enable "Developer options (there are videos on YouTube on how to do this)
3. in Developer options go to > Networking -> Bluetooth AVRCP Version -> Choose AVRCP 1.4 or 1.5
4. Restart your phone and pair devices and test them
It didn't work for me the first time because I didn't unpair the devices first, but once unpaired and steps followed and re-paired devices it seems to be working at the moment. I hope it lasts, Nothing more aggravating than bluetooth dropping out every few minutes and part way through a conversation
so my previous solution did not work in the long term, so I tried starting the phone in safe mode and the bluetooth worked in safe mode, so I presume there may be an App that is causing some kind of conflict. I have yet to find out which App it is, but at the moment, going to
>settings >system >reset>reset app preferences and then turning the phone on and off is working.
Eventually whatever App it is starts causing problems again, so I just keep going to through the above steps each time.
