Hello all,
I hope someone else is familiar with this problem and there is a solution.
The only way to clear the notification dot is to clear all data/cache within the app or restart the phone.
The dot clears from my messages WhatsApp and Facebook icons but as I said not from calls.
I have gone as far as a factory reset which did work for a day or so.
This problem seems to exist on other devices such as Oneplus, which could point toward an Android software problem.
Any help with this would be most appreciated.
Thx AL.
Hi same problem here and symptoms, worked for a day or so after factory reset but back to not clearing.
I have had no response from Sony which surprises me, as surely on a flag shop phone from last year this could be fixed.
I have the same problem on my xperia 10. Only had it for 3 weeks, brand new via Vodafone. It happened straight away, the icon wouldn't clear no matter what I tried, cleared the data, the cache, turned on and on and it was still there then the actual phone app updated and now I am showing 12 missed calls and nothing is working to clear it.... Very annoying but it must have been a bug in the app upgrade so fix it please!!
Actually I am not facing this issue. But I think it may a bug from previous update and can be cleared on the upcoming update. Because I have noticed that the update u people got has not provided to all the devices.this is due to they got to know this update has some glitch.
Parallely I too faced battery drain issue last month very badly. I got annoyed but with the next update it fine. So I think you can wait for upcoming update releases. 👍🙂
I also have the same issue with the blue dot not clearing for missed calls. Clearing the data does work temporarily, until the next missed call. Brand new xz3 on Android v9. Please provide a solution.
Hello everyone and sorry for the late reply.
If your device has the Google Phone app and not the Xperia phone app, this behaviour will be fixed in a new update for the application that will be released and available in the Google Play store around October 21-25, so keep an eye out there.
If the phone application icon is blue and the phone inside of it is white, you have the Google phone app.
I hope that helps!
Also have this problem. Blue dot currently sitting with 3 on it but I have no missed calls and no voicemails. I have cleared the cache and told both the phone app and the general settings not to use notofication dots but it is still there. Worth noting that the phone app was updated 2 days ago with app update dated 22/10/19. Doesn't affect functionality but it is just annoying!
Hi @Steve50, sorry to hear that.
Would it be possible for you to get back to me with which phone model you have? Not every device is affected by this, so I want to make sure that I provide you with the correct information.
You can find the phone model in Settings > System > About phone.
Thank you!
Okay I found a fix. Go to play store and find the Google caller app. Uninstall the updates. Then restart the phone. The notification dot will still be there. Open the caller app and go to recent calls then close the app. The notification dot will now be gone. If you want, go back to the plays and update the app again.
Hi @Cassanata99, awesome!
Seems that the update that was released by Google fixed it for you!
Have a nice day!
