When in my car the phone connects to the in-car hands-free system using bluetooth. The sat nav connects to the phone using WiFi so that it can retrieve traffic information, weather, petrol prices etc. over the internet.
I use an app called "Trigger" to detect the connection to the bluetooth hands free and enable the WiFi hotspot. It also disables the WiFi hotspot when the bluetooth disconnects.
This has worked on previous phones (Samsung Galaxy A3 was the last one), but does not work on the XZ1. I have tried a different app with similar facilities and that too does not enable the WiFi hotspot.
Is there anything that I can do to make these applications work at enabling and disabling the WiFi hotspot, or can you suggest a different application or solution?
Thanks,
Stephen.
I have got this working.
I installed the following two apps:
Nougat+ Tasker Tethering Control
Tasker
I then added tasks to Tasker to call the Task Tethering control to turn the WiFi hotspot on / off when the bluetooth connects to / disconnects from the car.
Regards,
Stephen.
