Always on display

Hi is it possible to have always on display? My old android phone has it and it's great to quickly look at phone and see the time and any notifications without touching the phone.

Thanks

Thanks for the comments and support I will just download a third party app from play store as this looks like best solution.

Thanks

I tested your particular case scenario situation. However your phone has to be charged to have your screen always on. A way around this, you can have a Sony WCH20 charging dock station (or any Qi dock). It'll have your phone up right to see your phone and constantly charge for your sceen to stay on.

Specifics: In Developer Option, Stay Awake while charging. And note to set notifications to show on lock screen.

Side note: I honestly do not know why the Sony WCH20 looks so large, I thought it would double as a Google Assistant speaker... But no.

Qi fashlt charge docks can be thin.

I also have this Sony charger, got it free with my ZX2, it small for it size, and I was expecting it to been bigger, that being said, why is it so bulky compare to my other 8 QI charger, but at least it's has the quality. Any way I don't get the always on even with the charger, just the normal double tap.

That's a pity that there is no function within the phone to activate this ...considering it was a big feature two years ago on android and most have this function ☹️☹️☹️

Developer mode is pretty Googlely. All cellphone stores commonly practice  use the stay awake feature, when data transferring cell to cell.

If you want it as a feature, perhaps suggest it to Sony and Google. If you send Feedback to Google it actually gets filed and looked at eventually. They even send you a follow up if the suggestion created an actually change.

I would like the feature to add a 960fps video able to upload in the unlock screen like how Samsung announced at MWC 2018. Have the feature baked into stock Google would be nice. So all other manufacturers get the feature.

Then, on top of that, add Unlock screen to Daydream. Which includes Notifications on unlock screen options; Hide, hidden information, and all notifications.

I'd like Sony to have 960fps slow-motion video to personalize the unlock screen. Then it would make sense for that to be a Daydream feature.

Someone suggested this app. I used this back in the day.

"You already can, I've been doing this with Android since 4.4"

It works well for video on live lock screen and live wallpaper.

Of course, baked in is always great for Android personalized choices and sale gimmick.

It is a pity that Sony does not support it. This is a very important feature.
