3D Scanner

What is the tolerance of the 3d scanner? Basically phone scanning accurately, a 10th, 100th or a 1000th of a millimeter? I have a Z3 compact and I think it is pretty much the prefect phone. But..... I am a product design engineer by trade and the thought of having a 3D scanner as part of my phone is a game changer and a very exciting prospect

Looking at the provided samples, I'd assume it's more in the range of multiple millimeters.

How can I tell from a photo if it’s to 1000th's of mm? To measure even a 100th of an mm you need equipment. That is on **bleep** of a stupid reply.

He is just saying that from what he can see its a few mm's. And i can confirm that. I have it and looking at the given samples in the app i can say its more than 1 mm of tolerance, for example: the ears are almost flat with the head and looking at the lips from the side they are kinda flat which is most likely not how it is in real life. It looks good enough for non professional use, but if you want scans which are accurate down to a 100th of a mm...i dont think it wil do the job for you.

Here is a example.. you can see for yourself.
