Hi Guys,

Let me tell you about my experience with my first "new age" smartphone and the Sony Z5.

Previously i have had other smartphones which would run symbian OS (nokias mainly) and blackberry. They wouldnt have all of this installable apps(they did have a few) but the basic functionality of the OS (like making calls on the phone keypad) would work flawlessly and would be supported by the manufacturer.

Besides having issues with the camera, with the stamina mode, with the fingerprint sensor among others, i have discovered a new problem with using my phone and when contacting support they have blacklisted me.

Here is what happened this time:

I have added on the phone settings a SIP account to make internet phone calls. Once that was done i discovered that i could add the SIP phones to my contacts and make a call.

After that i could not figure out any way to make a phone call from the phone dialer itself, just by creating a new contact to be able to add the internet phone address and then make a phone call.

So, not being able to fiugure that one out, i have contacted support by using the help button on the dialer app.

And that was the start of the problem.

The only thing i asked was where could i find the "@" sign to be able to call someone without having to create a contact and the answer is that they do not develop the VOIP App. but the thing is: that is on the settings of the phone (which can only be developed by sony because it is totally different from a stock android i've seen) and the dialer app (same thing here)

OK, so as it seems sony does not support the dialler app ? what is going on ?

So here i have put all screenshots so i could show them which page i was talking about.

And as it seems the support either did not read the email or cannot support the dialer app or give information about the developers because on the dialer app itself it keeps sending me back to them.

WHAT IS GOING ON SONY ? "Be moved" they say.

i am moved ... a bit further away from the brand.

and now that the Z series is dead i have no chance of having issues like this fixed.

Can anybody help ? should i always create a new contact for making sip calls ? ?

I understand your frustration but this is Android's stock app (VOIP), the dialer app it is Sony's, but I can escalate this to get confirmation, as of right now I can't see the pictures until they get approved by a moderator. You can upload them to box or dropbox or drive, etc and post the link here or just wait.

By the way, you should update your older posts so they can either be closed.
