Z5 loses one minute

I have set my Z5 to use Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone but this makes my Z5 lose one minute, immediately!

This mismatch has an impact on the authenticator (Authy or Google Authenticator); it gives me the wrong code. My Mac, iPhone 4 & 6, LG G5, Windows desktop are all in sync and display the time just fine. I can set the time manually on the Z5, of course. But that's not the point.

How come the phone loses time?

Hello @Bohrstein,

When set to automatic the device will get the current date and time from the mobile network you are connected to. Sometimes this may not be 100% correct and deviations can occur. This is not due to the phone but instead lies on the network. What you can do to get the time and date correct is to set it manually instead.

Thank you for your reply.

But ist is the same SIM card. I took it out of my LG G5 (which got the time right and Authy worked perfectly) and put it into my new Z5.

Didrik, Bohrstein that sounds like Marshmallow 6.0 time sync bug where the clock run slower, issue got fixed with Marshmallow 6.0.1 however a software repair could be necessary as software update at time ma fail to update all necessary components.

What version of Android do you have on your phone? Can you try to switch to h+/3g? Apparently the issue can be temporarily fixed by avoiding lte, so the device rather than using ntp servers (issue is there, ntp sync) it will use the carrier/network time.

Let us know. Slightly_smiling_Face

Thank you all for you replies.

Strangely enough, the time is absolutely in sync today. I didn't change anything.
