Z5 Compact laptop connectivity

A message pops up asking me to select Charge Only, MTP File Transfer, or Midi when I connect Z5 Compact to Laptop.

Problem is this keeps popping up every 5 seconds or so, I try to click on MTP it dissapears and just pops right back up.  If I don't touch it it just keeps going away and popping up every few seconds.

I tried setting USB Debug to On in developer mode, and set the default to MTP but this issue persists.  Restarted, tried 3 different USB cables to no avail.

Also when I connect My phone to media player its not recognising it either.

Could you try a different usb port?

Welcome to the community.

Do you find that it will have a similar issue while charging from the power point? As in, it will charge, stop charging, charge etc repeatedly? Or is this only happening with data connectivity?

if it makes a ding sound everytime it pops up, you may have a loose connection, try using another cable and or port

I've tried different port. It charges fine. It does ding everytime. I'll order another cable see if that helps. Thanks

I've tried a new Sony cable and it's still doing the same. Any other suggestions?
